The Mille Lacs Area is a special place and its uniqueness is reflected in the variety of activities and events scheduled throughout the year. From festivals and celebrations to arts and entertainment, you’ll find many activities every year throughout the Mille Lacs, MN area. Annual events include snowmobile races, fishing tournament weigh-ins and ice fishing contests. There are cultural and arts festivals such as the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Pow-Wow and there are traditional events like small town 4th of July celebrations and city play days throughout the summer months.

Event Description:

More than 500 mountain bikes gather for the 3rd annual Cuyuna Crusher Race.

On Friday, Aug. 25, pre-registration will begin at 6 p.m. in Crosby’s Memorial Park and a night ride will take place at 8 p.m. The Minnesota Series Race takes place in the Mahnomen Unit of Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area on Saturday, Aug. 26. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Also on Saturday, racers and the public are invited to celebrate at the Cuyuna Lakes Crusher Happy Hour and Awards Party, located at the Crosby Memorial Park from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Race awards will be at 5 p.m., free kids races at 6 p.m., Traveling Art Pub painting opportunities from 7 to 8:30 p.m., live music by Jackson and the Roosters, and food and craft beer provided by Maucieri’s Catering throughout the evening.

On Sunday, Aug. 28, there will be a Haul Road Time Trial near the Croft Mine from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cash and medals will be awarded to the top winners.
